Job Summary
Fire Systems Technician responsible for installing, wiring, programming, and testing commercial fire alarm systems; interpret blueprints and technical drawings; ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, and AHJ requirements; troubleshoot electrical wiring issues; collaborate with project managers, electricians, and clients; maintain documentation; adhere to safety protocols; requires 3+ years in fire alarm installation and knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and related building codes; NICET Level I+ preferred; valid driver’s license; opportunity for advancement and training.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of fire alarm installation experience (commercial)
- Knowledge of Special Hazards
- Prior experience in electrical trade (low-voltage or commercial electrical systems)
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and applicable building codes
- Familiarity with major fire alarm systems (Potter, Kidde, Bosch, Vista)
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and wiring schematics
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- NICET certification (Level I or higher) preferred
