Job Summary
Inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire suppression systems including wet, dry, pre-action, and fire pump systems while performing routine inspections against local, state, and national codes. Install new equipment, complete system testing, and maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation. Respond to emergency calls, coordinate with contractors and building managers, and identify code violations to recommend corrective actions. Participate in on-call rotation, after-hours service, and scheduled preventative maintenance programs. Support annual inspections and assist with regulatory audits or fire marshal reviews.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in fire life safety or a related field, with preference given to fire suppression backgrounds
- Hands-on experience testing and servicing pre-action, dry, wet, and fire pump systems
- Strong computer skills with the ability to complete detailed inspection reports and service documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to think critically under pressure
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in the field
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in various physical environments
- Must pass background check and drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- Stay current with evolving fire codes, manufacturer updates, and industry best practices including AHJ certifications
