Fire Suppression Technician

Job Summary
Inspect, test, recharge, and maintain fire suppression systems and portable fire extinguishers in commercial and industrial settings. Assemble, install, and repair equipment while ensuring all work meets applicable NFPA and local code requirements. Accurately document findings and communicate recommendations with customers and internal teams. Work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks safely, using hand tools and operating in confined spaces. Requires valid driver's license, ability to lift 50+ pounds, and one to three years of experience in fire suppression service.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel within assigned territory
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Ability to work on ladders or in tight or confined spaces
Desired Qualifications
- One to three years of experience in fire suppression system service
- Technical or industry related experience
- Mechanically inclined
- Interest in hands on technical work in the life safety or construction space
- Comfort using hand tools and other basic equipment
- Ability to learn more as you go
- Knowledge of NFPA 17A, 96, and other relevant fire protection codes
- Experience reading blueprints or simple drawings
- Experience using hand tools or machinery in a prior role
- Prior exposure to fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, or other life safety equipment
- Strong communication skills
- Strong documentation skills
