Job Summary
Lead Fire Protection Engineering role focused on design, analysis, and implementation of fire protection systems across building projects in Edmonton. Responsibilities include designing fire protection systems (fire suppression, fire alarms, smoke management, emergency lighting), preparing drawings and specifications, stamping documents to certify compliance, reviewing client specs, generating technical reports, evaluating shop drawings, coordinating with suppliers/contractors, integrating fire protection with other building systems, and performing site inspections and fire risk assessments. Requires leading project teams, applying NFPA and building codes, proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit/HydraCAD, and strong communication. Relocation not provided. Based in Edmonton, AB, with on-site requirements and occasional travel within Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with specialization in Fire Protection
- 10+ years of experience designing fire protection systems for commercial, low/high-rise, and multi-family residential buildings
- P.Eng. designation in good standing (asset)
- Fluent English for communication
