Job Summary
Operate mini track excavators and related underground utility equipment to trench and install underground fire sprinkler mains, hydrant leads, and underground piping while following site plans, safety standards, and ensuring proper depth, slope, and alignment. Collaborate with underground fire protection crews; read blueprints and markings; assist with hydrostatic testing and flushing; perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance; and maintain safe, productive job sites. Requires 5+ years of experience with UG fire line installation, a valid driver's license, ability to work outdoors in varied weather, and ability to lift 50+ pounds. OSHA trenching/excavation safety familiarity and willingness to travel occasionally are preferred. The role is based in Memphis, TN and is a full-time position with competitive pay.
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating mini excavators or compact track equipment for UG fire line installations – Minimum experience 5 years.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly.
- Basic understanding of excavation safety practices.
- Ability to work overtime and occasional travel if required.
