Fire Sprinkler Technician

Job Summary

Install, test, inspect, service, and repair fire sprinkler systems at customer locations. Respond to emergency and maintenance calls during and after business hours to troubleshoot faulty components and restore systems to normal condition. Perform annual, semi-annual, and quarterly inspections of life safety systems, write detailed service reports, and provide technical guidance to customers. Collaborate with contractors and team members to execute upgrades, modifications, and expansions while maintaining accurate records of all work performed. Adhere to safety guidelines and relevant codes including NFPA standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Maintain a valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a drug and background check
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
  • Must be able to travel daily
  • Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear and have full use of hands
  • Occasional ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Frequent ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Occasional ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Desired Qualifications

  • Additional technical certifications or training in fire sprinkler systems
  • Proven experience working as a Fire Sprinkler Technician
  • Willingness to support training/development for entry-level candidates
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Solid Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and standards, such as NFPA 13, 25, 14, 20 and local fire codes
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Backflow Preventer License
