Fire Sprinkler Lead Technician

Job Summary
Prepare jobsites, visually inspect systems, and alert alarm companies and fire departments before installing, hanging, or replacing wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam sprinkler systems per NFPA guidelines. Repair and rebuild backflow preventers, verify communication with monitoring stations, and perform system tests to ensure proper operation. Complete installation paperwork for branch management and report deficiencies to the Department Manager. This role requires a Massachusetts Fire Sprinkler Journeyman License, 1-3 years of field experience, and strong mechanical aptitude. Salary ranges from $38.00 to $50.00 hourly with a $10,000 sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Massachusetts Fire Sprinkler Journeyman License
- 1-3 years field experience in Sprinkler and Backflow systems service
- Fire and /or Life Safety Systems experience
- Must have or be able & willing to attain state Sprinkler and/or Backflow Licenses
- Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
- Must be able to visually inspect and service sprinkler and backflow systems
- Must be able to recognize alarm sights and sounds
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes
- May require ability to effectively use a Sprinkler Pipe Threader
- Must be able to effectively use backflow tester, pipe wrench, various lifts and common pipe fitting tools
- Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening
- MVR checks are required for all driving positions
Desired Qualifications
- 3-5 years of proven success in performance of Sprinkler inspection, installation, and service
- NICET Certification in Inspection & Testing of Water-Based Systems and/or Water-Based Systems Layout
