Fire Sprinkler Inspector

Job Summary
Perform inspections, testing, and routine maintenance on fire sprinkler systems in line with NFPA 25 and local regulations. Evaluate system performance, verify that devices, valves, and control assemblies are operating properly, and record test results accurately. Identify code deficiencies, potential hazards, and system impairments and provide clear recommendations for repairs or corrective actions. Coordinate inspection schedules with customers, contractors, and building maintenance personnel and communicate findings in a straightforward way. Respond to service calls or emergency needs including occasional night, weekend, or short notice work when customer needs arise and assist with basic troubleshooting and minor repairs. Maintain company tools, testing equipment, and your vehicle in clean, organized, and reliable condition. Follow all safety procedures and company policies while representing Encore with professionalism and integrity on every job site.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years of experience inspecting or maintaining fire sprinkler systems
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA 25, NFPA 13, and applicable building and fire codes
- Ability to read blueprints, riser diagrams, and system schematics
- Solid mechanical aptitude and attention to detail when working with valves, piping, and system components
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting, documentation, and customer conversations
- Proven ability to work independently and manage your time effectively in a field-based role
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- A willingness to work occasional overtime, weekends, or nights as needed to support customer or emergency needs
Desired Qualifications
- Trade school or technical training
- NICET certification in water-based systems for inspection, testing, or layout
- Additional technical training in fire protection, sprinkler systems, or related trade
- Experience inspecting both sprinklers and special hazard or suppression systems
- Prior experience working closely with deficiency sales or service teams to transition inspection findings into repair work
