Job Summary
The Field Technician (Inspector) will test, repair, and inspect fixed fire protection systems and components, documenting any deficiencies and communicating discrepancies to clients and the company. Responsibilities include scheduling inspections, maintaining inspection records, ensuring compliance with manufacturer instructions, codes and standards, and completing continuing education to maintain current certifications/licenses. Requires 4+ years of industry experience, NICET certification, fire sprinkler manufacturer certifications, and strong English communication; must be able to travel as needed and work safely in varied temperatures and environments. Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of industry experience
- Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and specifications
- Fire Sprinkler Service/Inspection experience
- NICET certification
- Fire Sprinkler Manufacturer’s Certifications
- Able to speak, read, and write English fluently
- Has practical knowledge of fire protection codes and standards
- Excellent customer service skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work alone
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for last 5 years
- Able to stand for long periods and to lift, crouch, reach, handle, push, and pull
- Able to travel and stay out of town as needed
- Able to operate measuring instruments and gauges
- Able to work in extreme temperatures
- Able to work while exposed to loud noises
