Job Summary
Fire Sprinkler Fitter with experience from advanced-level apprentices to journeymen to install, assemble, and test fire sprinkler piping and related components using engineering and architectural plans. Read and interpret engineering/design, architectural, and structural blueprints to plan pipe system layout, select and prepare pipe, fittings, supports, and related materials, and cut, fit, and connect piping using threaded, soldered, brazed, and grooved methods. Operate hand and power tools safely, inspect and verify installed systems with pressure gauges, install hydraulic components such as pumps, and complete required reports including time, progress, materials, and subcontractor work. Emphasis on life-safety systems and adherence to safety policies; outdoor work in various weather conditions; physical requirements and potential overtime/weekends; pre-employment drug screening. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of tools, equipment, and tasks associated with pipefitting
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong communication skills with supervisors and team members
- Safe and efficient operation of hand tools, power tools, and layout tools
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
