Job Summary
Fire Sprinkler Fitter needed to install and retrofit fire sprinkler piping per NFPA-based systems. Read blueprints to install prefabricated piping, cut/groove pipe, and coordinate with onsite contractors. Maintain quality and safety, assist with scheduling, modify designs for code compliance, and train other field installers. Occasional travel and lifting up to 50 pounds; must read drawings, understand NFPA 13, obtain OSHA 10, and hold or pursue relevant certifications. Location: Lorton, VA. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in the Fire and Life Safety industry
- Enrolled in and actively going through Sprinkler Apprentice Program
- Working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action systems, as well as backflows and fire pumps
- Ability to read and install from fire system design drawings and documentation, including system zoning
- Ability to use trade appropriate tools to perform daily pipe fitting duties efficiently and safely
- Ability to train others to use trade appropriate tools efficiently and safely
- OSHA safety standards and ability to obtain OSHA 10 Certification
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
