Job Summary
Fire Sprinkler Designer responsible for creating safe, code-compliant fire protection systems. Responsibilities include conducting site surveys, collaborating with architects/engineers/clients, reading and interpreting blueprints, preparing shop drawings and plans with AutoCAD, using CAD tools to develop detailed schematics, generating submittals and material lists, and coordinating with officials and customers. Requires reading specifications, submittals, and codes to produce designs for review, staying current with fire protection technology and regulations, and performing other duties as assigned. Strong analytical skills, detail-orientation, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship are essential. Education includes a high school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s in engineering/drafting preferred; NICET certification and 3+ years of relevant experience strongly preferred. Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, and Microsoft Office is expected.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, drafting or related field is preferred
- 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design
- AutoCAD experience (Autodesk AutoCAD)
- Autodesk Revit
- Autodesk Navisworks and/or BIM 360
- NICET certification (Level II or higher) is required
- Basic understanding of mathematics and physics
Desired Qualifications
