Job Summary
Fire Sprinkler Designer will design and prepare layout drawings for fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial and/or residential settings. Responsibilities include applying fire protection codes and standards, reading architectural/MEP blueprints, performing hydraulic calculations, coordinating with engineers and project teams, developing working layouts and final master drawings, ensuring code compliance (NFPA, local/state fire codes), and supporting proposal documents. Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, AutoSPRINK, BIM 360) is required, along with site surveys and coordination with contractors. Minimum five years of fire sprinkler design experience and an RME-G license are required; NICET certification is preferred. The role involves project collaboration, documentation, and adherence to safety and confidentiality policies.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of Fire Sprinkler Design experience is required
- RME-G license is required
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, drafting or related field is preferred
- 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design and AutoCAD
- Experience using Autodesk AutoCAD; Autodesk Revit; Autodesk Navisworks; AutoSPRINK; BIM 360
- NICET certification (Level II or higher) in Water-Based Systems Layout is preferred
- Basic understanding of mathematics and physics relevant to design and hydraulics
