Fire Sprinkler Designer

Job Summary
Produce fire protection design drawings and calculations for permitting and construction across storage, healthcare, and mercantile projects. Utilize AutoSprink and BIM (Navisworks) to coordinate systems, perform hydraulic calculations, and complete stock listings for fabrication shops. Review all design documents before submittal, resolve coordination issues, and communicate discrepancies to field foremen. Attend project meetings and conduct site surveys as needed. Requires minimum 5 years of fire protection design experience, RME-G certification, and familiarity with NFPA standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years fire protection design experience in fire protection systems
- BIM (Navisworks) experience
- RME-G
- Must be familiar with NFPA 13, 14, 20, 22 and FM Global Standards
- Technical understanding of Fire Sprinkler Design including Wet, Dry, Preaction, and Deluge type systems
- AutoCAD experience
- third party software training
- Ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications
- Competent math ability
- Good basic computer skills
- Detail oriented
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with persons of various backgrounds
Desired Qualifications
- Texas NICET Level 3
