Job Summary
Design and layout fire sprinkler systems for commercial and multifamily projects, interpreting blueprints, specs, and hydraulic calculations while ensuring compliance with NFPA codes and local regulations. Manage projects from pre-construction through final closeout by coordinating with general contractors, engineers, and field teams to oversee timelines, materials, and execution. Develop detailed shop drawings using AutoCAD and HydraCAD, conduct water flow tests, and facilitate BIM modeling and clash detection. Prepare fabrication packages, release orders, track material deliveries, and process change orders. Conduct regular project walks to monitor progress and quality, meeting with foremen to review scheduling and manpower. Submit status updates to management and customers, assisting the estimating department as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in fire sprinkler design and/or project management
- Proficiency with design software (AutoSPRINK, HydraCAD, or similar)
Desired Qualifications
- NICET Certification (preferred – higher pay for higher levels)
- RME-G License (strongly preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
