Job Summary
Fire Service Technician role responsible for troubleshooting and repairing Fire Life Safety systems (conventional, addressable, voice, smoke control) and ensuring networked system integrity. Requires programming systems via laptops, producing repair reports per NFPA standards, managing vehicle inventory/tools, and mentoring other technicians. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in Fire Life and Safety repair roles, NFPA 72 knowledge, ability to read system drawings, OSHA 10, NICET I certification, and a valid driver’s license; strong communication and customer-facing skills, and comfortable working under tight deadlines with physical tasks (lifting up to 25–50 pounds, climbing ladders). Required Qualifications
- NICET I Certification
- OSHA 10 Certification or OSHA safety standards
- Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
- Two to five years of experience in a repair or systems technician role within Fire Life and Safety industry
- Knowledge of NFPA 72 code requirements
- Knowledge of Article 760 of NFPA 70 for installation of fire systems
- Ability to read fire system design drawings
- Ability to program and repair fire alarm systems using a laptop computer
