Job Summary
Fire Service Technician responsible for receiving service calls, diagnosing and repairing Fire & Life Safety systems at customer sites. Responsibilities include contacting customer representatives to determine issues, troubleshooting and repairing electronic fire alarm systems and related building systems, reading blueprints and manuals, documenting work, ensuring customer satisfaction, participating in on-call rotations, and possibly mentoring others on the service team. The role emphasizes high level of customer service, on-site diagnostics, panel programming of fire alarm, security, and access control systems, and a willingness to work flexible hours including weekends; experience with CCTV and IP networks is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems
- Oklahoma Commercial Fire Alarm license (or willingness to get it)
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals
- Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
- Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service
- Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs
- Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures
- Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements
- Retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions
- Preferred NICET Level II certification strongly preferred
