Job Summary
Develop fire safety governance arrangements and operational readiness strategies for Hinkley Point C. Lead Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Hazard Analyses with input from key stakeholders, while supporting the implementation of fire prevention programmes and protection arrangements. Provide specialist advice on UK fire legislation, regulatory compliance, and emergency response planning to ensure startup readiness. Interpret regulations including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and contribute to WANO performance activities. This onsite role at Bridgwater requires Security Vetting and offers a starting salary of £67,000 per annum.
Required Qualifications
- Fire management and fire safety design within a complex industrial, nuclear, or high-hazard environment
- Developing fire safety management arrangements, governance frameworks, and operational fire safety documentation
- Interpreting and applying UK fire safety legislation, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and associated regulations
- Supporting or participating in World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) reviews and operational readiness activities
- Conducting Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Hazard Analyses within commissioning or operational environments
- Working with multiple stakeholders to implement fire prevention, compliance, and fire protection programmes
- Producing fire safety documentation and arrangements that support operational readiness and regulatory compliance
- Security Vetting
- Resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years
