Job Summary
Fire Safety Engineer to join Global Guardians for permanent full-time work based at the Cuffley office or from home with travel across London and surrounding areas, occasional UK-wide travel. Responsibilities include conducting and reviewing Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) under the Fire Safety Order 2005 (as amended 2021), identifying and mitigating fire risks, overseeing fire detection/alarm/suppression systems, inspecting and maintaining fire alarms, emergency lighting, extinguishers, doors and escape routes, delivering fire safety training for staff, property managers and guardians, investigating fire-related incidents, liaising with Fire and Rescue Services and regulatory bodies, and conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with legislation.
Required Qualifications
- Full UK Drivers License
- 3+ years experience in fire safety engineering, fire risk assessment, or fire protection design
- Experience conducting fire risk assessments for HMO-type or multi-occupancy buildings
- Familiarity with BS 5839, BS 5266, BS 9999/BS 9991
- Understanding of Building Safety Act 2022 implications for residential buildings (desirable)
- Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Fire Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Health and Safety, or related discipline
- Recognised Fire Risk Assessment qualification
