Job Summary
Fire Pump Technician needed to perform inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire equipment including portable and fixed extinguishers, lifesaving and navigation equipment, fixed breathing air systems, fire detection and alarm components, fixed gas detection, foam systems, dry chemical, gaseous fire suppression, and water-based protection equipment. Role involves documentation for inspection/repair, onshore/offshore site work, customer communication, vehicle/equipment care, and operation of safety gear. Must have 5–10 years in petro-chem fire protection, RME-I license, 2–3 years pump experience, willingness to travel 50% and work overtime, OSHA/ safety training (OSHA 10, Basic Plus), TWIC, Texas FAL/FEL licenses with NICET II within 12 months, and ability to obtain required certifications. Desirable familiarity with NFPA, CFR, Coast Guard, and ABS regs; strong English communication and ability to work in team environments, with capability for reporting and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 5 - 10 years in petro-chem fire protection industry
- Must have RME-I Fire Sprinkler license
- 2 - 3 years fire pump experience
- Must be willing to travel 50% of the year
- Must be willing to work overtime
- Must have a basic understanding of troubleshooting fire protection systems
- Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance
- Must possess safe driving record and be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving company truck
- Must be able to obtain TWIC card and pass safety testing to include classes such as Basic Plus, OSHA 10 hour
- Must have Texas State Fire Licenses (FAL/FEL) and pass NICET Level II testing within 12 months of hire date
- Knowledge of applicable Code of Federal Regulations, Coast Guard and ABS regulations if offshore
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English; second language a plus
