Fire Protection Sprinkler Technician

Job Summary

Install, service, and inspect water-based fire protection systems across North Texas by laying out, fabricating, and hanging pipe per NFPA 13 and shop drawings. Perform hydrostatic tests, flushing, and final acceptance testing with the AHJ, while responding to service calls for leaks, alarms, and valve issues to diagnose and repair on the first trip. Complete inspection, testing, and maintenance on existing systems, documenting deficiencies and recommending corrective work. Coordinate in occupied buildings and active construction, submitting accurate daily reports and adhering to all OSHA and site-specific safety protocols. Occasional after-hours, weekend, and on-call emergency service work required.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience installing and/or servicing water-based fire sprinkler systems
  • Current Texas State Fire Marshal's Office Fire Sprinkler Installer registration — or eligibility to obtain one within 30 days of hire (we sponsor and pay for it)
  • Ability to read and interpret sprinkler shop drawings, isometrics, and hanger and bracing details
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25 fundamentals
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and team-lift heavier pipe and equipment
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts, and boom lifts at height; climb, kneel, crawl, and work overhead for extended periods
  • Daily travel to job sites across North Texas; occasional overnight travel on out-of-town projects
  • Occasional after-hours, weekend, and on-call emergency service work

Desired Qualifications

  • NICET Level I or II in Water-Based Systems Layout or Inspection & Testing
  • Backflow assembly tester certification (ASSE 5110 / TCEQ) or dedicated ITM experience
  • Pipe welding certification, or aerial lift, scissor lift, and forklift certifications
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Experience in healthcare, education, government, or data and telecom facilities, including work in occupied spaces under ILSM or ICRA requirements
  • Fire pump, standpipe (NFPA 14), or special hazard system experience
