Job Summary
Assist the Sprinkler Fitter with the assembly and installation of fire protection sprinkler systems by inspecting, repairing, testing, adjusting, and removing systems. Select, cut, thread, and hang pipe, then install valves, couplings, and fittings while adhering to proper construction practices. Lift, position, and secure materials and work pieces, and perform other duties as assigned. Requires minimum six months construction or fire protection experience, knowledge of basic tools, and ability to multi-task with minimal supervision. Available to report to multiple job sites and work in varying temperatures, including inclement weather.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months construction or fire protection/sprinkler experience; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
- Knowledge of basic tools and materials
- Understands and practices the proper use of power and hand tools
- Possesses basic math and computation skills
- Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
- Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
- Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned
- Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to climb
- Must be able to bend
- Must be able to pull
- Must be able to reach overhead
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to work aloft
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls

- Must be able to work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels
- Must be able to be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust
- Must be able to work in confined spaces or from high heights
- Must be able to use construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools
Desired Qualifications
- Sprinkler experience in a construction industry
- Ridgid 300 power machine (cutting and threading pipe) experience
- Prior military experience
- HS diploma or GED equivalent
