Job Summary
Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine layout requirements for automatic fire suppression systems. Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping, then connect systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, and control equipment. Test the system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment and maintain appropriate documentation for all work performed. Train and direct the day-to-day work of a Helper while adhering to NFPA Standards and company policies. Available for multiple job sites as assigned, this role requires interpreting blueprints, multi-tasking with minimal supervision, and working in varying temperatures, noise levels, and confined spaces.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a Sprinkler Fitter; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
- Ability to interpret blueprints and architectural drawings
- Knowledge of NFPA Standards
- Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
- Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
- Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus
