Fire Protection Project Manager

Job Summary

Oversee all aspects of planning and delivering commercial fire protection construction projects, including reviewing plans for design and constructability issues. Coordinate with internal departments, clients, and vendors to develop construction schedules, scope out quotes, and manage subcontractors. Monitor daily key metrics, prepare financial reports and revenue forecasts, and identify scope changes to submit change orders. Assist the Superintendent with on-site quality control and safety procedures while managing Requests for Information and proposals. Develop recovery plans for projects facing safety, quality, or production issues. Manage multiple projects across varying stages, ensuring timely execution within budget with zero defects or accidents.

Required Qualifications

  • Preferred bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering OR related field, and/or 3+ years of Fire Protection project management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience as a Project Manager on commercial construction sites
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be a self-starter, be able to work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Must adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Must be available to work assigned schedules
  • Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold and dampness
  • Must be able to work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels
  • Must be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust
  • Must be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights
  • May work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time
  • May be required to travel (typically not overnight)

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Fire Protection Project Manager on commercial construction sites (with specific focus on commercial sprinkler systems)
  • Familiarity with the BIM process
  • Prior experience with Procore - Project Management System
  • Prior military experience
