Job Summary
Senior-level engineering leader responsible for independent design and calculations across building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and structural), guiding design direction and junior staff from concept through construction, coordinating with clients and project teams to deliver code-compliant, high-performance solutions and complete construction documents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
- Minimum 6-10 years of engineering design experience in building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, or structural)
- OR Associate degree with 10+ years of relevant design experience under PE supervision
- OR 11+ years of progressive practical engineering design experience (discipline-specific)
- Strong knowledge of building codes and engineering standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Revit proficiency preferred
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to manage deadlines in fast-paced project environments
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking ability
- Preferred Qualifications:
- EIT certification (preferred)
- Experience progressing toward or supporting PE-level responsibilities
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience with junior engineers/designers
- Experience in multidisciplinary building systems coordination
- Experience working in commercial, healthcare, or institutional projects
