Fire Protection Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct professional-level fire protection engineering services including life safety code consulting, fire alarm design, performance-based engineering, and smoke control system design under senior consultant direction. Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports while assisting in resolving design problems through field investigations, detailed calculations, and coordination of specific design aspects. Identify applicable codes and standards for responding to inquiries, and execute assigned work such as building code analyses, egress reviews, hydraulic calculations, and hazard assessments. Effectively communicate with project teams and clients, with occasional CAD document preparation. This role requires a Bachelor's degree with 0-3 years of experience and is based in the Virginia Beach, VA office; candidates must be local or willing to relocate, as this is not a remote position.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or higher
- 0-3 years' experience
- Passion and interest in Fire code safety and in exceeding our client expectations
- Candidate must be local or willing to relocate to Virginia Beach, VA
- This is not a remote position; the candidate will work side-by-side with staff in the Virginia Beach office
