Job Summary
Fire Protection Engineer with accountability for independent design development and calculations of fire protection systems across schematic, design development, and construction document phases. Responsibilities include performing calculations, equipment sizing, and code compliance checks; preparing system descriptions, narratives, and equipment schedules; developing layouts in Revit in coordination with architectural and structural teams; coordinating with internal and external disciplines; responding to RFIs and submittals; conducting field verifications and construction observation; engaging in design strategy discussions; participating in QAQC and peer reviews; mentoring designers and interns in software use, modeling best practices, and documentation standards; participating in project meetings and supporting agendas/minutes; tracking hours and contributing to scope/resource planning. The role operates within a hybrid model with regular in-office days.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, required
- P.E. licensure required
- 5+ years in the AEC Industry preferred
- Revit experience required
- Written and verbal communication skills required
- Strong organizational skills required
- Ability to work well with others under deadline situations required
