Job Summary
Fire Protection Engineer to lead fire and life safety design across diverse projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. Responsibilities include leading design and development of fire protection systems (layout, specs, equipment selection), performing fire hazard analyses and code compliance reviews, developing construction documents and technical specifications, managing fire protection scopes across multiple projects, coordinating with HVAC/electrical disciplines, mentoring junior engineers, participating in project meetings and client interactions, contributing to internal knowledge sharing, staying current with applicable codes and standards, and pursuing licensure as appropriate. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field, 5+ years of relevant experience, strong NFPA knowledge, client-facing communication, and relocation or residence in the SF Bay Area. PE license is preferred at least in progress.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience in a fire protection or building systems consulting environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead fire protection design efforts and manage project responsibilities
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes and fire alarm, suppression, and sprinkler systems
- Clear, professional communication skills and comfort working client-facing
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; licensure-in-progress considered
- Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area
