Job Summary

Fire Protection Engineer responsible for code interpretation, development of performance-based design narratives and life safety code reports, and design of sprinkler and alarm systems. Will perform hydraulic calculations, coordinate with CAD/Revit models, participate in permit submittals, liaise with AHJs, architects, and clients, and mentor junior staff. Typical projects include aircraft hangars, high-piled storage, data centers, healthcare, industrial facilities, and other mission-critical occupancies; requires strong writing, coordination, and inspection/QA/QC efforts. Office-based with 25% onsite travel, ideally based in the Houston area but consideration given to near Allied office locations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline
  • 5 years of experience in fire protection or life safety engineering
  • NICET Level II or higher in Sprinkler or Fire Alarm Systems
  • CFPS (Certified Fire Protection Specialist)
  • PE (Fire Protection) license or in-progress pursuit
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit preferred
  • Knowledge of HydraCAD, AutoSPRINK, AlarmCAD, or Bluebeam
