Job Summary
Conduct daily inspections of life safety devices, CO2 and sprinkler riser systems, and personal protective equipment including SCBA. Maintain operational knowledge of fire suppression mechanics, enforce fire and life safety plans, and coordinate hazard investigations with Facilities Engineering. Deliver internal training to Securitas and client personnel on fire prevention programs and observe evacuation drills. Complete monthly checks, fire safety shop audits, and required medical questionnaires while rotating through days and nights shifts. Obtain necessary licenses and certifications within three months of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 or GED equivalent
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid G class Driver's License
- NFPA 1001 Fire Fighter Level I & II from a recognized College or Academy
- IMS 100
- Emergency Medical Responder from Canadian Red Cross
- Completion of the annual FPI Medical Questionnaire
- Must Successfully pass SCBA Fit Testing
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate issued by recognized provider
- Must be able to display clear and quick thinking to resolve problems whilst being able to withstand stress and stay calm under pressure
