Job Summary
The Children’s Recovery Center seeks a safety-minded Fire Prevention and Security Officer to inspect buildings for fire hazards, enforce laws and regulations, patrol premises, assist employees/visitors, direct traffic, and provide security for state property. The role is a full-time, night-shift position with 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts and weekend work. Candidates must be 21+, have a valid driver’s license, and be willing to undergo physical and drug testing as part of the conditional offer process. Education requirements are not specified; a basic security and/or firefighter’s course plus related experience are preferred for Level II, with Level I requiring no specific education. The employer notes comprehensive benefits and that duties may involve travel. Location is Norman, Oklahoma, within Cleveland County.
Required Qualifications
- F&S Level I: No requisite education and experience are required for consideration.
- F&S Level II: Completion of a basic security and/or firefighter's course, and 2 years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work.
- Must be 21 years of age or older, due to DHS requirements.
- Non-Exempt.
- Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel and have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass physical examination requirements (lifting/carrying 60 pounds occasionally; push/pull up to 30 pounds).
- Pre-employment drug testing for safety-sensitive positions.
