Job Summary
Fire Life Safety Engineer (Mid to Senior level) for Industrial & Power Facilities. Design and verify fire protection and life-safety systems for industrial facilities, including fire and smoke modeling, hazard analyses, risk assessments, explosion protection strategies, smoke management concepts, and fire-area separation. Produce calculations to size water supply, fire pumps, and underground piping; develop subcontractor scope of work; manage subcontractors; review fire suppression and fire alarm plans; ensure code compliance with NFPA standards and IBC/IFC requirements. Travel (~10%) to client sites as needed. Requires a B.S. or higher in Fire Protection, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering (EIT preferred) and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Strong communication, teamwork, and construction-administration skills are essential. Experience with data centers, power, water treatment, or nuclear environments is highly desired. • Location: Lenexa, KS or Lone Tree, CO with relocation support to Lenexa; some US-wide consideration possible. Base compensation: $95,000-$129,000; OT and benefits included.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related engineering field. EIT preferred.
- 3 years minimum relevant experience in Fire protection and life safety design/analysis and construction support for industrial, power or similar type facilities.
