Job Summary
Command emergency operations by assuming leadership on fire scenes, directing firefighting tactics, and assigning tasks to crew members while making rapid safety decisions. Oversee daily station operations, including scheduling, crew assignments, equipment maintenance, and training drills. Manage personnel by monitoring performance, addressing disciplinary issues, and coordinating with law enforcement and other agencies. Execute pre-fire plans, public education, and fire investigations as assigned. This sworn firefighting position requires a 48-hour on-duty/96-hour off-duty rotating schedule with irregular hours and travel. Applicants must pass an NFPA 1583 medical screening and annual fitness assessments.
