Job Summary
Conduct interior structural firefighting, HazMat, and confined space rescue training programs while supervising trainees and managing performance improvement initiatives. Schedule and coordinate hands-on sessions utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus, creating and revising training materials to align with federal, state, and NFPA regulations. Maintain auditable records, construct realistic training props, and travel to other facilities for benchmarking and oversight activities. Support fleet emergency preparedness duties, project management, and outage coverage as directed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED with 10 years of related experience
- Associate's degree in Fire Sciences with 8 years of related experience
- Meet requirements of NFPA 1041 Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications, Instructor level II
- Meet requirements of NFPA 472, Standard for Professional Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials Incidents, Technician level
- Meet the requirements of NFPA 1006 Standard for Rescue Technician Professional Qualifications, Technician level, Rope and Confined Space Rescue
- 2 years of experience as a Fire Instructor
- Experience in power plant emergency response operations
- Working knowledge of applicable regulations NRC, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), NFPA
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as a member of a community emergency response organization, recent or current
- Strong working knowledge of Constellations systematic approach to training process activities and regulatory requirements
- Completion of Constellation fire brigade, hazardous materials, confined space rescue team, and incident commander training
- Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
