Job Summary
Fire Installer role assisting with installation and startup of electronic fire alarm and security systems. Read complex construction blueprints/diagrams, follow verbal and written instructions, and perform duties from installation through testing. Must be able to carry/move equipment up to 50-70 lbs, work in challenging positions (ladders, scaffolding, high lift up to 40 feet, ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings), maintain a clean safe work area, and complete daily paperwork. Wear safety gear as required; may work alternating shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, drug screen and background check, and strong customer service and organizational skills; preferred experience in electrical trades with low voltage as a plus. Communicates effectively with customers and teams; will engage in physical labor and safety practices throughout installations in various settings (data centers, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, higher education). This is a full-time role with Johnson Controls, including a comprehensive benefits package, with salary range $18-$22/hour, and potential adjustments based on education, experience, knowledge, and market data.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of Fire Alarm and/or Security System experience
- Construction experience
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Successful completion of drug screen and background check
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly
- Preferred: Experience in electrical trade; low voltage experience is a plus
