Job Summary
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of fire suppression and control systems, perform system troubleshooting, diagnosis, and minor repairs, and complete annual fire suppression system testing. Respond to fire alarms, fires, and medical emergencies within the facility, providing basic emergency care and performing drug and alcohol screenings as needed. Manage Department of Homeland Security inventory, remove lock-out/tag-out locks, and evaluate work areas for fire potential prior to hot work activities. Perform data entry for fire system impairment notifications and support fire suppression system contractors on-site. This role requires a current Paramedic or EMT-A certificate and at least two years of Firefighter/HazMat/EMS experience. Based at Blount Memorial Hospital in Alcoa, Tennessee, the position supports Arconic's safety and health compliance efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Current paramedic or emergency medical technician advanced (EMT-A) certificate to practice professionally in Tennessee
- 2 years minimum Firefighter/ HazMat / EMS experience
- CPR and AED certification
- Knowledge of office equipment
- Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database)
- Knowledge of scope of practice according to State regulations
- Ability to communicate clearly in a positive manner
- Ability to maintain a positive and open attitude to change
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work efficiently and effectively
- Ability to think critically and problem solve while remaining focused in a stressful or fast paced environment
