Job Summary
Fire Equipment Repairer Specialist responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and testing fire protection equipment and systems (sprinkler piping, extinguishers, pumps, alarms, hydrants, standpipes, doors, signage) across SEPTA facilities. Duties include monthly/annual inspections, documentation and reporting as a certified representative, assessing fire hazards, ensuring NFPA-compliant installations, operating specialized tools (pipe threading, grooving, forklifts, ladders), maintaining safe work sites, supervising lower classifications, preparing work reports, and developing material/equipment lists. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, a two-year plumbing course, Philadelphia fire suppression certificate, knowledge of NFPA codes, ability to pass preliminary tests, and a valid driver’s license. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two-year plumbing course from an accredited technical school
