Fire Engineer / Fire Surveyor

Job Summary

Deliver value to clients by conducting third-party reviews, performing fire door and compartmentation surveys, and managing Building Safety Act Clerk of Works duties. Execute technical tasks including lender due diligence, planning Gateway One fire statements, EWS1 forms, and fire risk appraisals for external walls. Monitor projects to ensure compliance and quality while developing Safety Cases and reports. Support the wider Building Safety & Fire team across the North region, collaborating on fee proposals through handover and engaging in business development to grow the client base. Travel to site visits and attend meetings as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in fire safety, fire engineering, and/or fire science
  • Flexible and happy to travel for site visits or to neighbouring offices/regions as required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree in relevant engineering subject such as Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering
  • Practical experience with carrying out inspections, surveys and report writing
  • Interested in and motivated to learn the full cycle of building safety & fire, not just technical engineering
  • Adaptable and interested in taking on a variety of projects, particularly Technical Due Diligence work, external walls, expert witness, fire safety strategies & design and more
