Job Summary
Fire Detection Service Technician responsible for diagnosing and repairing electronic fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites. Responsibilities include receiving service calls, contacting customers, following troubleshooting procedures, reading blueprints and specifications, servicing and installing fire & life safety systems (including SimplexGrinnell), documenting work, obtaining customer signatures, participating in on-call rotation, mentoring others on the service team, and providing solutions to ensure building efficiency. Position involves programming fire alarm, security, and access control panels; experience with CCTV and IT/IP networks is a plus; required to complete task-related documentation and adhere to safety guidelines. On-call and after-hours work possible; strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems
- interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications
- good working knowledge of computers
- ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- physical ability to carry/move equipment up to 50-70 lbs
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- valid driver’s license and driving record meeting company requirements
- NICET II preferred
