Job Summary
Fire Detection Service Technician responsible for diagnosing and repairing fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites. Will service, troubleshoot, and install Fire & Life Safety systems (including SimplexGrinnell), read blueprints and submittals, follow technical manuals, provide excellent customer service, document activities and obtain customer signatures, participate in on-call rotations, and mentor others on the service team. Position involves programming of fire alarm, security, and access control panels; experience with CCTV/IT/IP networks is a plus. Requires on-site troubleshooting, panel repair/reprogram, device replacement, and ensuring facility efficiency; occasional after-hours work and travel may be needed.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals
- Knowledge of test equipment such as multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Capable of performing physical labor up to 50-70 lbs
- Ability to work flexible hours including ~10% overnight travel
- Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting company requirements
- Possess licenses required by National, State and Local codes
- NICET Level II certification strongly preferred
