Job Summary
Conduct fire assay supervision by maintaining production targets, scheduling workflows to meet client deadlines, and monitoring department throughput. Train and motivate staff, set goals, and review performance while ensuring consumables and inventory limits are managed. Solve daily production problems, perform method validation, and evaluate data to maintain lab QC standards. Investigate accidents, schedule personnel, and recommend staffing adjustments based on workload. Supervise laboratory analysis according to established methods and Quality Control standards. Plan procedures to improve the company quality program, maintain equipment logs, and organize waste disposal.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education (degree and/or diploma) in a Science related program (Chemistry, Geochemistry, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in a geochemical analysis field related to Fire Assay
- 1 – 3 years of previous supervisory experience
- Strong leadership skills and experience in the supervising of small technical teams, ideally including the supervising of people in a minerals related laboratory
- Authorized to work in Canada
