Fire Application Engineering Specialist – United Kingdom and Continental Europe

Job Summary

Evaluate customer enquiries, specifications, and drawings to determine the best Armstrong Fire solutions and select appropriate products for fire pump systems. Develop technical proposals, gather documentation, and present solutions to sales teams to incorporate Fire products into project discussions. Support regional sales agents with technical insight, triage inquiries, and bring strategic opportunities into the Regional Sales Enablement Center for solution development. Deliver training sessions to sales, service, and contractor teams while refining technical curriculum and attending trade shows. This on-site role in the UK and Europe requires 5+ years of experience with automatic fire sprinkler systems or application engineering, a relevant engineering degree, and familiarity with standards like BS, EN, and NFPA.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with automatic fire sprinkler systems and/or fire pumps
  • 5+ years of experience in application engineering/internal technical sales and service support
  • Understanding pump systems, pump curves, and hydraulic principles
  • Familiarity with fire standards and codes: BS, EN, LPC, NFPA and FM
  • Experience reviewing technical drawings, datasheets and specifications
  • Strong application engineering background with proven solution concepts
  • Ability to perform quick and simple calculations/conversions in flow and pressure unit domain
  • Previous experience with at least one pump/equipment selection software
  • Overall understanding of diesel and electric drives (motors) working principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to develop and deliver technical proposals and presentations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Commercial acumen and understanding of product and project value
  • Ability to focus on technical details
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in on-site and cross-functional environment
  • Must be able to travel inside of the UK and to Europe

Desired Qualifications

  • Holding driving license is a plus
