Fire and Rescue Technician I (Firefighter/EMT)

Job Summary
Respond to fire, medical, rescue, and other emergency incidents while providing emergency medical care and basic life support services. Operate and maintain firefighting, rescue, and EMS equipment to perform firefighting, rescue, and hazard mitigation operations. Participate in fire prevention, public education activities, and training to maintain professional certifications and promote public safety. Work assigned shifts and duty stations as required, maintaining readiness for emergency response while following department policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Ability to work 24-hour shifts and perform physically demanding emergency response duties.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age by the date of hire.
- Valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Ability to pass the written examination.
- Ability to successfully complete the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT).
- Ability to pass polygraph, psychological, medical, and panel interview evaluations.
- Ability to pass criminal background, driving record, education, and other required screenings.
- Ability to work 24-hour shifts and perform physically demanding emergency response duties.
