Job Summary
Install, inspect, maintain, modify, program, and service fire alarm and fire protection systems; read blueprints/diagrams/schematics; rack panels, run wiring/cabling, install devices and conduit; work with Emergency Lighting and Monitoring Systems; evaluate plans and codes to determine solutions; troubleshoot fire alarm, fire suppression and sprinkler systems; prepare stock materials and quotations; complete daily reports; mentor apprentices; participate in 24/7 on-call/emergency service. Requires safe work practices, strong communication, customer-service mindset, self-motivation, attention to detail, problem solving, teamwork, and willingness to travel to client sites. Completion of training in fire alarm systems (Siemens, Autocall, Simplex, Edwards, Notifier) is an asset; valid Driver’s License; ability to travel to remote client sites; overtime may be required; 40-hour workweek with potential after-hours.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years’ field experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems across various industries
- College/Trade level education in Electronics or Fire Protection Technology
- Applicable fire service certifications, jurisdictional regulatory permits, and/or valid CFAA and ASTTBC would be preferred
