Job Summary

Fire Alarm Technician role focusing on installation, wiring, inspection, testing, and servicing of commercial fire alarm systems. Lead technical problem-solver for low-voltage systems; read blueprints/diagrams; troubleshoot control panels, detectors, pull stations, and cabling (CAT3–CAT6a, fiber, coax); ensure NFPA standards and local fire codes; document testing results; coordinate with clients and management; participate in RK University apprenticeship program; work with safety practices on job sites.

Required Qualifications

  • Fire Alarm Technician-1: 1-2 years of experience in low-voltage or electrical work (commercial projects preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • NICET Level 1 or 2 preferred or must obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Participate actively in the company-sponsored apprenticeship program
  • Basic knowledge of fire alarm panels and systems
  • Fire Alarm Technician-2: NICET II (3+ years experience, Colorado Journeyman Electrician license preferred)
  • Fire Alarm Technician-3: 7+ years experience, Colorado Journeyman Electrician license required
  • Ability to mentor lesser experienced Fire Alarm Technicians
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills
  • Minimum physical requirements including ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Safety compliance and ability to stop work if unsafe conditions are present

Desired Qualifications
