Job Summary
The Fire Alarm Service Technician installs, tests, repairs, and inspects fire detection systems and provides exceptional service to internal and external customers. Based in Charlotte, NC with travel to client sites. Requires a high school diploma or GED and a Level II NICET certification (or ability to obtain within 18 months). Candidates should have at least two years of experience in fire protection systems, strong communication skills, and the ability to follow codes/standards. Duties include installing, programming, repairing, testing, scheduling inspections, documenting inspections, communicating discrepancies to customers, training Technician Trainees, maintaining certifications/licenses, and performing administrative tasks. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of experience in fire protection systems
- Minimum of Level II NICET certification (or ability to obtain within 18 months)
- Equivalent education/training and experience considered
- Physical requirements including ability to lift up to 100 pounds, work at heights above 10 feet, and work in confined areas
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to travel to client sites
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Ability to follow manufacturer instructions and comply with codes/standards
- Willingness to train and coach Technician Trainees
- Commitment to safety policies and professional conduct
- Ability to perform administrative duties (timesheets, reports)
- Ability to provide superb customer service
- Ability to work overtime when required
