Job Summary
The Fire Alarm Technician II performs installation, programming, repair, testing, and inspection of fire detection and signaling systems on a scheduled basis. Responsibilities include completing services per manufacturer instructions and applicable codes/standards, scheduling inspections with customers, documenting inspections for records and authorities having jurisdiction, communicating discrepancies and necessary repairs to customers, following up to ensure repairs are performed, marketing EFI services to customers, training Technician Trainees, working overtime as needed, and completing continuing education to maintain certifications/licenses. The role requires EST 3 or 4 certification (preferred) and NICET level 2 or 3, a valid driver’s license, excellent customer service, the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, work from heights above 10 feet, and work in confined areas. The position emphasizes adherence to company standards, ongoing professional development, and a safety-conscious, customer-focused demeanor, with opportunities for overtime and career advancement within a multi-state service area.
Required Qualifications
- EST 3 OR 4 Certified (Preferred)
- NICET level 2 or 3
- Education, experience, and certification as specified in the job description (or equivalent combination)
- Has practical knowledge of fire protection codes and standards
- Excellent customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Positive and professional demeanor with the ability to handle change, resolve conflict, and solve problems as they arise with minimal direction
- Able to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds, work from heights above 10 feet, and work in confined areas
- Able to stand for long periods of time and to lift, crouch, reach, handle, push, and pull
