Job Summary
Service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot basic and complex fire alarm systems with limited or no supervision. Coordinate with contractors, customers, building maintenance personnel, and office staff to execute daily workload. Identify code and non-conformance issues while making recommendations for system installation improvements. Commit to responding to and completing all troubleshooting and repairs on assigned customer systems. May require overtime hours at night, on weekends, or at a moment's notice for emergency calls. Massachusetts Electrical License required; valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Massachusetts essential. Extensive knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and industry standards for various system manufacturers expected.
Required Qualifications
- Massachusetts Electrical License
- High school diploma
- Valid Driver's license
- Ability to travel throughout Massachusetts
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA 72
- Extensive knowledge of NEC
- Extensive knowledge of Fire Alarm System Theory
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of Industry Standards for Fire Alarm systems installation
- Experience with a variety of system manufacturing including Gamewell-FCI, Siemens, Notifier, Edwards, Simplex, Honeywell, Firelite, etc.
- Ability to service, program, test, inspect and troubleshoot basic and complex fire alarm systems with limited or no supervision
- Ability to identify code issues and non-conformance issues
- Confidence and accuracy making recommendations regarding system installation improvements
- Commitment to respond and carry out to completion any troubleshooting and repairs on assigned customer systems
- Exceptional work ethic
- Attention to detail
- May require some overtime hours at night, on weekends and at a moment's notice for emergency calls
