Job Summary

Fire Alarm Technician tests, repairs, and inspects fire detection systems. Performs installation, programming, repair, testing, and inspection of fire detection and signaling systems on a scheduled basis; completes services following manufacturer instructions, codes/standards, and company policies; schedules inspections with customers; provides documentation for records and authorities; communicates discrepancies and needed repairs to the company and customers; markets EFI services; trains Technician Trainees; may require overtime; maintains certifications/licenses as required.

Required Qualifications

  • IDEALLY CERTIFIED OR CAPABLE: EST 3 OR 4 Certified
  • Education, experience, and certification as specified in the job description (or equivalent combination)
  • Has practical knowledge of fire protection codes and standards
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Positive and professional demeanor with the ability to handle change, resolve conflict, and solve problems as they arise with minimal direction
  • Able to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds, work from heights above 10 feet, and work in confined areas
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and to lift, crouch, reach, handle, push, and pull.
