Job Summary
Install, program, inspect, and repair commercial and residential fire detection systems at the CMI customer site in Beltsville, MD. Set up panels, sensors, and wiring per electrical layout blueprints and conduct routine NFPA 72 checks with detailed documentation of deficiencies. Diagnose system faults, replace faulty components, and restore alarms to optimal functionality while explaining system operations to clients and managing emergency service calls. Requires at least five years of Fire Alarm Tech experience, deep understanding of low-voltage circuitry and NFPA codes, and ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces. NICET Level I through IV certification and manufacturer panel certifications are highly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- At least 5 years of Fire Alarm Tech experience
- Deep understanding of low-voltage AC/DC circuitry, electrical schematics, and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and comfortably work in high or confined spaces
- Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must be able to pass a government background check
Desired Qualifications
- NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification (Level I through IV) and specific manufacturer panel certifications
